Andhra Version Of Dal Cury
Pappu in the Telugu also known as Dal. There are many variations in making dal which differ from state to state. This is a simple recipe which requires less effort and time. Try out this for lunch / dinner recipe! Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients:
Vegetables:
Chow chow – Small portion, chopped
Onion – 2 medium sized, chopped
Green Chillies – 2, finely chopped
Coconut – 1 cup, grated
Asafoetida – 3 pinchDal:
Toor Dal – ¾ Cup
Split Moong Gram – ¼ Cup
Urad Dal – 2 Tbsp
Others:
Salt (White or Himalayan Pink) – To taste
Oil – For seasoning
Turmeric – 2 Pinch
Water – As required
Mustard – 1 Tsp
Cumin – 1 Tsp
Curry Leaves – As required
Method of Preparation: Pappu | Dal
Step 1
Wash Toor Dal and Split Moong Gram in water.
Step 2
Add chopped chow chow, onion, green chilli, cumin seeds, pinch of turmeric, Toor
Dal, Split Moong Dal and water as required to a pressure cooker.
Step 3
Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles on medium flame.
Step 4
Open the lid once the pressure comes down and then mash Dal. Add water to get consistency.
Step 5
Add salt and keep it aside.
Step 6
Take a pan and add urad dal
– 2 Tsp and dry roast until it turns golden brown.
Step 7
Add grated coconut and urad
dal to a mixer and then add water to make a semi solid paste.
Step 8
Add paste to dal and mix it
well.
Step 9
For tempering take a pan
add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.
Step 10
Pour the tempering to the
cooked dal.
