How To Make White Sauce Pasta At Home

 White Sauce Pasta Recipe 


An easy and popular pasta recipe made with creamy white sauce. It can be either served for lunch or dinner or as a perfect lunch box recipes for kids and adults.

Ingredients:
Pasta (Penne, Macaroni, Spaghetti, Farfalle) – 100 Gms


Herbs
Black Pepper - As required
Nutmeg – 1 Pinch
Oregano (Dry) ¼ tbsp
Basil (Dry) ¼ tbsp
Salt  To taste

Flour:
Wheat – 1 tbsp Or all Purpose Flour (Maida) – 2 tbsp

Water:
4 Cups to boil the pasta

Dairy:
Milk (Chilled) –
250 Ml
Grated Cheese Or Permesan Cheese – As required
Butter (Salted or Unsalted) 2 tbsp

Garnish:
Herbs – Any herbs of your choice
Grated Cheese Or Permesan Cheese – As required

Method of Preparation: White Sauce

Step 1
Heat the pan with low flame to prepare the sauce.

Step 2
Add 2 tbsp of butter and after the butter melts add Wheat – 1 tbsp Or 2 tbsp of all Purpose Flour (Maida).

Step 3
Stir the flour continuously for 1 minute to avoid any lumps. 

Step 4
Pour 250 ml chilled milk gradually to the pan and stir continuously with a low flame.

Step 5
Switch off the flame once the sauce gets thickened.

Step 6
Add Herbs - Black Pepper - As required, Nutmeg – 1 Pinch, Oregano (Dry) – ¼ tbsp, Basil (Dry) – ¼ tbsp and stir it well.

Note: Cooling White Sauce will thicken the sauce, hence keep the consistence accordingly.

Method of Preparation: Pasta

Step 1
Boil 4 cups of water in a pan with ½ tbsp of salt to it.



Step 2
As the water boils add pasta and cook it on a high flame for 10 minutes.


 

Note: Take a bite to know if it’s cooked. If it’s soft then its cooked well, else it requires more cooking.

Step 3
Use a strainer to get rid of the water content and then set the cooked Pasta aside.



Method of Preparation: White Sauce Pasta

Step 1
Add Pasta to the white sauce and stir well.

Step 2
Add choice of your herbs and mix it well.

Step 3
Transfer the pasta to a serving plate and garnish it with grated cheese.

Your yummy White Sauce Pasta is ready to serve!

Options:

Gluten Free: For white sauce use rice flour of gluten free flour.
Vegan: Use Almond or Cashew milk instead of cow milk. But it needs to be cooked with low flame as it gets split.
Vegetables: Add steamed Carrot, Broccoli, Corn and Baby Corn to make veggie pasta.
Herbs: More herbs like garlic powder, dry thyme leaves, chilli flakes can be added.
