How To Make Salad With Broccoli and Chickpea 

Salad mostly fall into the principal categories such as: Green Salads; Vegetable Salads; Salads of Pasta, Legumes, or Grains; Mixed Salads incorporating meat, poultry, or seafood; and fruit salads.

Most salads are traditionally served cold, although some are served hot. Combining broccoli with other veg, grains, pasta and protein for salads bursting with flavor and texture can be a perfect option for lunch or as a starter.

Ingredients:

Vegetables:
Broccoli Florets – 1 Cup
Chickpea –  1 cup, soaked and boiled
Garlic – 2 Cloves   
Onion – 1
Garlic – 2 Cloves   
Onion – 1 medium sized, chopped
Chilly Flakes – As required
Oregano – As required
Sesame Seeds - 1 Tsp

Others:
Salt (White or Himalayan Pink) – To taste
Oil – For seasoning
Water – As required

Method of Preparation: Broccoli and Chickpea Salad  

Step 1
Soak chickpea for 6 hours or overnight with enough water. 

Step 2
Pressure cook the soaked chickpea with enough water and salt as required. 

Step 3
Cook the chickpea for 12-15 minutes until it becomes soft. 

Step 4
Drain the water and keep it aside. 

Step 5
Chop the Broccoli into florets and rinse under fresh water (cold).   

Step 6
Steam the florets for 4-5 minutes. 

Step 7
Remove the florets and keep it aside. 

Step 8
Add 2 Tsp oil and then add finely chopped garlic and stir well. 

Step 9
Add the broccoli florets to the pan. 

Step 10
Add 2 Tsp of Oregano, chilly flakes and salt as required.

Step 11
Add boiled chickpea and stir well for 5-6 minutes. 

Step 12
Add sesame seeds and switch off the flame. 

Your yummy Broccoli and Chickpea Salad is ready to serve!

Note:
Do not overcook broccoli and make them mushy.  
You can add pepper instead of chilly flakes.
You can add herbs like parsley, basil, cilantro or thyme.
