How To Make Butterfly Pea Flower Tea | Blue Tea | Purple Tea | Iced Tea - Thai & Taiwanese Recipe 


Butterfly Pea Flower is often featured in cocktails, cosmetics, and herbal tea blends. It is an ingredient well-known for its brilliant blue hue as its rich in Anthocyanin compounds called Ternatins and is commonly found throughout South East Asian countries of Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka. Being naturally caffeine-free and a completely herbal concoction, blue tea just like Green Tea is also a powerhouse of antioxidants.

Ingredients:
Blue Butterfly Pea Flower (Fresh / Dried)  4-5 Flowers
Hot Water  2 Glasses
Lemon  1 Tsp
Honey or Sweetener  As required
Ice Cubes – To make cold beverage.

Method of Preparation: Tea

Step 1
Take a bowl and add 2 glasses of water.
Step 2
Boil the water and switch off the flame.
Step 3
Add Butterfly Pea flowers to the boiled water and cover the lid for 2 min.
Step 4
Strain the tea decoction and remove the pulp.
Step 5
And sugar or honey as required.

Note: Butterfly blue pea flower tea can be made using both fresh flowers or dried flowers.
